Lambda the Covid 19 variant: First reported in Peru in December 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO)

The new Coronavirus variant, Lambda, has appeared. Scientists and experts see the latest variants of the virus which caused Covid-19 as a new threat to the increase made over the past year or more.

The World Health Organization (WHO) states Lambda as an “interesting variant” on June 14. However, according to whom, the first case of this variant, formerly known as C.37, was reported in December 2020.

When is the variant to “Variant Interest”?

The world’s health body points to a variant as a “variant of interest” when its genetic change is predicted or known to affect essential characteristics, including transmission, disease severity, wealth runaway, diagnostic or therapeutic runaway.

WHO also said that the variant became a “variant variant” when identified as a significant cause of community transmission or several Covid-19 clusters, in various countries, with increased prevalence of a relatively shared number of cases from time to time. In addition, such a variant also shows other signs of “epidemiological impact” to suggest the risks that arise to the health of the global public.

The British Health Agency British Public Health (PHE) was appointed by Lambda as a “variant in investigation” on June 23, a day after the country reported a total of 6 cases.

Where is the Lambda variant first detected?

The lambda variant of SARS-COV-2 was first detected in December 2020 in Peru but started as an “interest variant” only on June 14. The reason? According to reports in financial time, only one person in every 200 cases reported this variant.

This number has now increased to 80% of Covid-19 cases currently in the South American country. Not only that, but Peru also has the highest death rate in the world, but there is no evidence to conclude that Lambda is the reason behind it.

Countries report lambda:

Data in GISAID, global science initiatives, show that at least 31 countries have reported the latest variants. Among these countries are the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland etc.

Does it escape the vaccine?

Even though there is limited information available about whether the Lamba variant escaped or not a vaccine, researchers in Chile have published the results they did. According to the conclusion of the Prefrint paper, the mutation is present in the protein surge in the attractive Lambda variant died of an increase in the infectivity and runaway of the antibodies triggered by Coronavac, Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine.

Although this research was limited to only one vaccine, the researchers said that the large vaccination drive currently underway must also be accompanied by strict genome supervision.

This will enable “identification of new isolates that bring a spike mutation and immunological studies aim to determine the impact of this mutation in immune breakthroughs and vaccine breakthroughs,” said this study.

While scientists in Phe expressed concern that the latest SARS-COV-2 tension can spread rapidly. And may also be more resistant to vaccines. They emphasize no evidence that strengthens the lambda variant.

To cause smooth disease or reduce the effectiveness of the current vaccine. Or reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine when This or reducing the effectiveness of the current vaccine.

Or reducing the current vaccine’s effectiveness or reducing the effectiveness of the current vaccine or reducing the effectiveness of the current vaccine.

Has India reported any case?

Lambda’s latest variant from the Coronavirus novel has not been recorded in India so far, Ani’s news agency reported on Wednesday’s source quotation.

India reported 43,733 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours against Tuesday 34,703. The Ministry of Health’s website shows 930 related deaths. The total number of cases now reaches 3,06,63,665 cases and 4,04,211 deaths in this country.
