New York Mayor Order to Close Schools Restaurants and Bars

New York City Mayor “Bill de Blasio” sign an executive order that closes all restaurants, bars, and cafes in the city. Limiting these establishments to takeout and delivery only to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. All Night clubs, movie theaters, small theater houses, and concert venues will also close. Any restaurant, bar or cafe selling food will only be able to do so via delivery or take-out.

New York mayor said, ” I’m very, very concerned that we see a rapid spread of this disease. It’s time to take more dramatic measures. This is a decision I have taken with no joy and a lot of pain.” Mayor also adds, “These places are part of the heart and soul of our city. They are part of what it means to be a New Yorker”. He also announced that all Public schools in Long Island and Westchester County will also remain close this week.

More than 50,000 restaurants in New York expected to shutter-down. According to the “National Restaurant Association”. Restaurants account for more than $51 billion in annual revenue and have more than 800,000 employees. The Coronavirus has infected at least 729 people throughout New York state. Nationwide, there are more than 3,700 confirmed cases and 69 deaths till now. States across the nation implemented measures to stop the public from gathering in restaurants and bars over the weekend.
