Warning From Apple: Your iPhone Will Be Of No Use Soon

Apple’s recent statements might just be enough to shock you. iPhone 5 users will no longer be able to use various system applications. This will happen until you update the iOS version on your iPhone 5.

Apple stated, “Starting just before 12 am UTC on November 3, 2019, iPhone 5 will require an iOS update to maintain accurate GPS location and to continue to use functions that rely on correct date and time, including App Store, iCloud, email, and web browsing”.

They further added, “This is due to the GPS time rollover issue. That began affecting GPS-enabled products from other manufacturers on April 6, 2019. Affected Apple devices are not impacted until just before 12 am UTC on November 3, 2019”.

Along with iPhone 5, the 4th gen iPad will be needing an update to iOS 10.3.4. According to a statement by Apple, if the update is not done until the mentioned time, users will have to back up. And restore the data using a Mac or PC as iCloud will no longer be functional on the device.

Also, the iPhone 4S, 1st gen iPad, iPad 2, and 3rd gen iPad will be needing an update to iOS 9.3.6. If you own any of the above-mentioned devices, make sure you update your devices to avoid any errors and inconvenience.
